Claude BRUMACHON & Benjamin LAMARCHE

Guest Professor
International choreographer associated to the Cultural Centers of Limoges.

After training in the evening classes of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, Claude Brumachon discovered the art of dance. He first got hired by the Ballets de la Cité de Rouen in 1978, where he stayed for two years before working for several other choreographers. In 1980, he began his researches with Benjamin Lamarche who will soon become his privileged dancer and accomplice for all his creations. From that time, Claude started creating his own choreographic pieces – a simultaneously energetic and tormented, romantic and meaningful dance. In 1992, Claude became the director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Nantes (CCNN), followed in 1996 by Benjamin as a co-director. After 23 years at the head of the CCNN, they left the direction to create their own dance company called Sous la Peau, as a partnership with the Municipal Cultural Centers of Limoges. With the Grand Théâtre de Genève, they create a Carmina Burana with chorus and orchestra under the direction of the conductor Kazuki Yamada. Passionate by teaching, they created a piece in 2017 for the Young European Ballet and taught the students of the [Princess Grace Academy and the dancers of the International Academy of Dance in Paris, among many others](https://www.balletsdemontecarlo.com/en/princess-grace-academy/teachers)… Together, Claude and Benjamin have developed several collaborations with companies around the world, such as in Nigeria, Chile, Prague, Buenos Aires…
