A perfectionist when it comes to movement and a multi-talented artist – dancer, choreographer, illustrator – he is revolutionising the art of dance by infusing it with a unique geometric dimension. From a very young age, he harboured a consuming passion for drawing and dance, influenced by icons such as Michael Jackson. Sadeck would dance in the family living room, honing his skills ‘on his father’s VHS tapes’, switching between Jackson’s concerts and performances by the Quebec-based Michel Courtemanche: ‘His isolated movements are incredible!’ he admits.
He dances all the time, whether in his bedroom or on the street, taking part in battles and making a name for himself in the dance scene. “We didn’t have the internet, games consoles or social media; we’d meet up outside. We’d lay out a piece of cardboard and dance. ” Alongside his brother Adel (TRex), now his producer, Sadeck explores other neighbourhoods, in Farébersviller or Saarbrücken, on the other side of the border. “Dancing helped me find self-confidence.” At school, “it was a disaster: I couldn’t sit still in a chair!” At 18, with no prospects or motivation, he dropped out of secondary school for good and left home.
In 2017, he founded the group Géométrie Variable, a collective in which he combines his artistic skills and creative vision to establish his own style. His unconventional career path, spanning bricklaying and dance, has seen a rapid rise that has propelled him onto the international stage, where he has collaborated with renowned artists and creators.
Among his most notable achievements is the piece *Murmuration*, a poetic and visually striking work that played to sold-out audiences and toured internationally, thereby cementing his place on the global arts scene. Always in pursuit of innovation, Sadeck continues to dazzle with his unique choreographies and his avant-garde approach to dance.
