- Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 (16 years old on September 1st of the year of entry).
- An advanced level in ballet and/or contemporary dance is required.
- Applicants should have a good understanding of English or French.
- There are no academic requirements for entry into the program.
- We welcome applications from EU and international students.
All applicants must complete and submit an application form including:
- The registration form
- A passport-style portrait photo
- A motivational essay (min. 300 words) describing your dance-related accomplishments, ambitions and aspirations for the next three years, and why you want to study at Dance Area.

1st Part
Personal presentation (max 1 min.)
By stating your name, age, background and a few words about your motivation to come and study in our structure.
2nd Part
Classic (max. 4 min.)
- Grand Adagio Center
- Jumpsuit with pirouettes
- Small allegro
- Grand allegro
3rd Part
Contemporary (max. 2min.)
- A solo of your choice which must be filmed in the studio in dance attire and without editing. The solo can be from the repertoire or a personal composition (no video on stage).

Pay the application fee of CHF 30.-
This fee covers the cost of processing the application and is non-refundable if an offer to audition is not made.
Only dossiers containing all the elements will be taken into account.
Candidates will be informed by email of their admission to the audition in Geneva or to the second round of the video selection within 14 days of submitting their file.
Selected candidates are invited to an audition in Geneva at the Dance Area studios. The audition will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025. This audition will consist of the following tests:
- Classical dance class
- Contemporary dance class, including creative work/improvisation
- Excerpts from the Area Jeune Ballet repertoire
- Performance of a solo prepared in advance
- An individual interview
Only possible for candidates who are geographically distant or unable to attend the audition (attach supporting documentation). The administration will validate on a case-by-case basis.

- Video sequences of excerpts from the Area Jeune Ballet repertoire will be sent to candidates who will have 15 days to learn the material and return their video.
- At the end of the 2nd video selection, the successful candidates will be invited to a digital interview (final stage of the process).
