Olivier VERCOUTÈRE

Olivier Vercoutère was born in Wattrelos, France. At the age of 14, he left to continue his education at the John-Cranko school in Stuttgart. Even before his training was completed, he was regularly called upon to join the corps de ballet of the Stuttgart Ballet, where he was definitively hired in 1993 by Marcia Haydée. He continued his career with the Opera Ballet of Munich and Berlin. In 1999, Ivan Liska hired him at the Munich Ballet where he ended his career in 2013 as a soloist. Olivier has worked with many contemporary choreographers such as Jacopo Godani, Mats Ek, Mauro Bigonzetti, John Neumeier, William Forsythe, Saburo Teshigawara, Angelin Preljocaj, David Bintley and many others.

Since 2015 he has the title of Professor at the University of Music and Theater in Munich (Hochschule für Musik und Theater München). At the same time he is ballet master, responsible for the Master program, and assistant to the director of the Bavarian Junior Company (Bayerisches Junior Ballett München).
